Thousands marched today in Philadelphia on Martin Luther King day. The event was organized by a group called MLK Day of Action, Resistance, and Empowerment or 'MLK Dare'. The march started on North Broad Street outside the headquarters of the Philadelphia School District and headed south around City Hall. Three motorists died and dozens more were injured in multiple chain reaction pileups on area highways Sunday morning due to icy roads. Starting at 7:00 a.m. on the westbound Schuylkill Expressway near the Gulph Mills exit a near 60-car pileup had I-76 closed in both directions for hours. 31-year-old Eric Blau from Philadelphia was killed in the crash and 30 people were injured. The NCAA and Penn State have reached a settlement that would vacate the 2012 consent decree signed in the the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal. The settlement would restore 112 wins to the football program, 111 of which were won under the late Joe Paterno, placing him back on top the all-time wins list for head coaches. Penn State will still be responsible for $60 million, but the monies will be used in the state of Pennsylvania for programs to prevent child abuse and to help victims.... Read More |

An 18-year-old Temple University student fell to her death from a Center City building and landed on a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk below. It happened around 6 pm Thursday night near 16th and Chestnut Streets. Rebecca Kim was visiting two male friends who attend the Art Institute of Philadelphia and live on the eighth floor. One person is dead and several are injured following a multi-vehicle crash on I-95 in Bucks County this afternoon. It happened around 1:15 pm in the northbound lanes of 95 between the Woodhaven Road and Street Road exits. The crash involved three passenger cars and two tractor-trailers. A man accused of stabbing three men and dumping their bodies in the Schuylkill River last summer was caught today in Virginia. 43-year-old Tam Minh Le was captured by U.S. Marshals without incident at a motel in Ashland, Virginia. Authorities say that Le and members of a Vietnamese gang held two brothers hostage for gambling away money which was supposed to be used to buy drugs. Philadelphia Police are looking for the murderer who shot a woman waiting for the bus Tuesday morning. It happened around 9:30 am at 12th and Jefferson near Temple University in North Philadelphia. 56-year-old Kim Jones (pictured) was shot in the back of the head as she was waiting to board the #23 SEPTA bus. Police have arrested and charged the husband of a missing Mount Laurel mother of two with her murder Tuesday afternoon. 28-year-old Kyle J. Crosby was charged with one count of murder in the death of 26-year-old Erica Crippen. Erica's body has not be recovered. Crosby is being held at Burlington County Jail on $1 million bail.
