Officials speaking on the condition of anonymity told the Associated Press that some pills discovered inside Prince's Paisley Park estate were mislabeled and actually contained a significantly more powerful drug. The autopsy results released in June state that Prince died of an accidental fentanyl overdose. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid 50 times more powerful than heroin. A missing Penn State professor has been found dead. His body was discovered at the bottom of a quarry and he had apparently been pushed. 56-year-old Ronald Bettig, an associate professor of media studies, had not been seen since August 12th. Penn State police launched an investigation and transferred it to State Police this week. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has nominated former First Deputy Attorney General Bruce Beemer for temporary Attorney General. He would replace former Solicitor General Bruce Castor who was sworn into office as acting Attorney General. Beemer testified against the convicted Kathleen Kane who resigned yesterday. The body of a New Jersey mother who has been missing for months has been found and two people are under arrest. 41-year-old Tyrita Julius of Linden had been missing since March 8th when her friend, 33-year-old Jennifer Sweeney, supposedly dropped her off at the Long Branch train station. Kane was found guilty yesterday on all nine counts in her perjury and obstruction trial held in Montgomery County. Pennsylvania's top law enforcement officer has been convicted on all nine counts in her perjury and obstruction case. Kathleen Kane was accused of leaking secret grand jury information to the press out of revenge and lying about it in front of another grand jury. She was found guilty of felony perjury and several misdemeanors including conspiracy, official oppression and false swearing.

Berks County authorities said today that the father was responsible for the murder-suicide that also left his wife and three children dead. 40-year-old Mark Short Sr. wrote a suicide note and also admitted to buying the gun and shooting his wife, 33-year-old Megan, and children, 8-year-old Lianna, 5-year-old Mark Jr. and 2-year-old Willow. The defense rested on Friday without calling any witnesses in the obstruction and perjury case against Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane. Montgomery County judge Wendy Demchick Alloy asked Kane if she was going to take the stand. Kane said, “I don’t believe it’s necessary for me to testify on my own behalf.” The jury was sent home for the weekend.
