Philadelphia Police have a person in custody in the shooting of an 81-year-old grocery store owner in South Philadelphia on Christmas Eve. 31-year-old Maurice Green has been charged in the murder of Marie Buck. Buck was shot 11 times while tending her store 'Marie's Grocery' at 6th and Titan streets around 9 am Christmas Eve. She has run the store with her husband for 43 years. A missing New Jersey woman and her great-granddaughter have been found alive in Virginia. 71-year-old Barbara Briley and her great-granddaughter La'Myra Briley were found safe inside their vehicle while parked on private property in rural Dinwiddie County south of Richmond. Their car was about a mile from the road. The pair had gone missing traveling from Mays Landing, Atlantic County, to family in North Carolina on Christmas Eve. Man Dead in Fishtown Fire; Shots Fired During Pool Game; Man Shot in Tioga-Nicetown

A man is dead and two firefighters injured after a fire in Fishtown overnight. Fire broke out in a apartment building after 3 a.m. on the 1200 block of Shackamaxon Avenue. Crews discovered a couch burning in the home. A 50-year-old man was found unconscious on the floor in an upper level. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital in serious condition where he died. Two firefighters suffered minor cuts which were treated on scene. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.Read More

Delaware County officials are currently investigating new developments in the case of a missing mother who vanished three and a half years ago. Collingdale Police Chief Robert Adams calls this "major, absolutely major." Collingdale Police searched the home of Melissa Rodriguez using cadaver dogs on Tuesday and crews started digging up the basement. They did not find a body after working Tuesday night and stopped digging for the day.

Police continue to investigate the murder of an 81-year-old South Philadelphia shop owner. Marie Buck was shot and killed on Christmas Eve inside her store "Marie's" on the corner of 6th and Titan. It happened on Saturday morning just before 9 a.m. after her 81-year-old husband Michael had just stepped out. Marie was shot 12 times by the suspect. Nothing was stolen. Many Philadelphia residents have been reporting a 'rotten eggs' smell over parts of the city from Port Richmond through Center City and across South Philadelphia. The strong sulfur-like odor has prompted many people to call authorities worried about a potential gas leak or other danger. A UPS delivery driver was shot this afternoon in Chester, Delaware County. It happened just before 1:30 p.m. near 10th and Highland. The driver was struck in the shoulder by a stray bullet. The driver was able to drive himself to the Murphy Ford dealership on the 3300 block of Township Line Road to get help. He was taken to Crozer Medical Center and treated for a minor injury. Officials have identified the remains of a 14-year-old girl from Abington, Montgomery County, who went missing back in July. The body of Grace Packer was found in the woods by an isolated road in Bear Creek Township, Luzerne County, by hunters on October 31st. The body had been dismembered.
