A man in his 30s shot and killed himself during a barricade situation in a Center City high rise apartment building on Tuesday afternoon. Police responded around 1 p.m. to the Sterling Apartment Homes on the 1800 block of JFK Boulevard to reports of a man with a gun and shots fired. Traffic was blocked in both directions along JFK. A 22-year-old South Jersey social media influencer has been accused of being the ring leader of a $1.5 million fraud scheme. Kayla Massa of Gloucester City has 338k Instagram followers and 107k Youtube subscribers. Federal prosecutors have charged Massa, her 19-year-old sister Leire Massa, and 8 others with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud. A Narberth teenager punched his ticket to 'Hollywood' on the season premiere of American Idol on Sunday night, 2/16, by performing an original song. 19-year-old Louis Knight wrote the song 'Change' after his best friend, Russell Peck, died by suicide in 2018. The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office says that a woman embezzled over a half-million dollars from a church. 43-year-old Taisha Smith-DeJoseph of Willingboro is charged with computer criminal activity, theft by deception, and tax fraud. Smith-DeJoseph oversaw finances at Saint Paul's Baptist Church in Florence Township. She is accused of taking $561,000 over a 5 year period.
