A woman who was killed this weekend in Charlottesville, VA, amidst the clash between counter-protestors and white nationalists on Saturday has been identified. 32-year-old Heather Heyer was crossing the street with a group of peaceful counter-protestors when a silver Dodge Challenger drove into the crowd, smashed into a car, and then backed up through the crowd (see video below). Philadelphia Police have released surveillance photos of a suspect and vehicle wanted for a deadly hit-and-run in Center City last Sunday. It happened around 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, August 6th near Broad and Race Streets. 53-year-old Ann Broderick, a homeless woman, was struck by a white four-door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with black fenders. Each August as the Earth's annual orbit takes it through the remains of the comet Swift-Tuttle/109P, we are treated to a dramatic show of meteors streaking through the sky called the Perseids. Named because they seem to radiate from the constellation Perseus, this meteor shower will peak tonight Friday August 11th through Saturday August 12th. It is not uncommon to see up to 100 meteors an hour with the Perseids.

Philadelphia Police are asking the public's help in finding two people wanted in connection with a pepper spray attack in South Philadelphia last month. It happened on July 24th around 12:30 a.m. on the 1300 block of Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia. Several firefighters in West Chester were injured and residents and businesses had to be evacuated because of a fire and carbon monoxide leak. Smoke was first reported around 4 p.m. Wednesday on the 200 block of West Gay Street. PECO said an underground transformer caused the electrical fire. A Burlington County woman has been arrested and charged with shooting and killing her partner in their Mount Holly home on Sunday. 28-year-old Laura Bluestein is charged with the murder of 29-year-old Felicia Dormans.
