| After a day long manhunt that shutdown the city of Boston and its surrounding suburbs, authorities have apprehended the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is alive and in custody. He was taken at around 8:45 pm after a standoff at a home in Watertown, MA. | One bomb suspect is dead and a second is still on the run this evening. The entire city of Boston has been on lockdown today as authorities search for 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. His brother, 26-year-old Tamerlan, was killed early Friday morning as the two engaged police in a furious firefight in the town of Watertown. Dzhokhar was able to escape during the battle. | A Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer was shot and killed Thursday night while investigating a disturbance on the campus of the university in Cambridge, MA across the Charles River from Boston. | The US Senate has rejected a bill sponsored by Pat Toomey (R., Pa.) and Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.). 60 votes were needed to advance the bipartisan measure, however there were only 54 "yes" votes to 46 "no". | Despite earlier reports that an arrest had been made in the Boston Marathon Bombing, officials are saying that they have no one in custody and no arrests have been made. | More details are emerging about the nature of the bombs that exploded during the Boston Marathon on Monday afternoon.
