The Philadelphia Phillies have traded OF Ben Francisco to the Toroto Bluejays for left-hander Frank Gailey.
Ben Francisco joined the Phillies in 2009 as part of the trade with the Indians that also originally brought over Cliff Lee. Last year, Francisco started the season in right field to replace the lost Jayson Werth, however he returned to his reserve/pinch hit role by mid season. Cardinal John Foley Passes Away at 76 |

Cardinal John Foley passed away early Sunday morning at the Villa St. Joseph retirement home at age 76. He was battling leukemia.
Foley was appointed to lead the Pontifical Council of Social Communications in 1984 by Pope John Paul II to help get the church's message out through the media.
He was most widely known to Americans as the voice of masses broadcast from the Vatican such as the midnight Christmas mass.

Heavy wet snow plus leaves on trees, leaves millions without power |

Close to 3 million households have been left without power after yesterday's surprise and unusual early snow. Most trees still have all their leaves, combined with the amount of snow, branches have come down all over the Northeast taking power lines with them.
In PA alone some 423,000 are dark and in NJ 617,000 lost power. Crews are working but it may take days. PECO's customer service message gives an estimate of Oct. 31 by 11 pm for it's customers.

The cause of Amy Winehouse's sudden death earlier this summer has now been released. Coroner Suzanne Greenaway concluded it was "death by misadventure," saying the singer died of accidental alcohol poisoning. "The unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels (of alcohol) was her sudden and unexpected death," Greenaway said.

After Libyan fighters captured Sirte, Qaddafi's hometown, early Thursday, two months after the fall of Tripoli, the former dictator Muammar Qaddafi has been killed by soldiers.
"We have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Muammar Qaddafi has been killed," Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril confirmed.

The iconic and legendary former CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs, has passed away today at age 56. He has been fighting cancer and other health issues the past few years.
