Pepsi announced that it will stop selling 2-liter bottles and multi-pack quantities of beverages such as 6 and 12 packs in Philadelphia blaming the city's beverage tax. The bottling company says that it wants to offer consumers products in package sizes that are affordable. In a letter to stores PepsiCo stated, "Because of the Philly Beverage Tax, people are buying far fewer taxed beverages - particularly those in larger package sizes because they now cost so much more." The Ellen Degeneres Show is coming to Philadelphia on Wednesday March 22nd for a live remote broadcast. The City of Philadelphia advises that Walnut Street from Broad to 17th Street will be closed from 1pm to 8pm, but the main event itself will happen at 4pm on the 1600 block of Walnut. Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams has been indicted in a federal corruption and bribery case. The 23-count indictment was announced on Tuesday afternoon and includes charges of bribery, extortion, and honest services wire fraud. The deaths of a man and a woman found in separate locations in Berks County are being called a murder-suicide by authorities. Shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, Charity Groff called 911 and described hearing someone pounding on her front door and then hearing a gunshot. This happened on the 200 block of Fourth Street in Shoemakersville. 50-year-old Carol Zimmerman of Mohrsville was found shot behind the Groff's residence. Philadelphia Police are investigating after $1 million worth of jewelry was stolen from a store in the Lawncrest section. It happened at Kim Thanh Jewelry in the Asian Market on the 5500 block of Whitacker Avenue. The burglars entered through a hole in the roof. They also cut power and phone lines which are affecting neighboring businesses. The same store was robbed about two months ago. That time burglars came in through a wall.

Philadelphia Police are looking to speak with a number of persons-of-interest related to a brawl that broke out in the Race-Vine subway station last week. It happened around 3:45 p.m. Thursday. A former Pennsylvania State Trooper has been charged with the shooting death of his pregnant wife and their baby three years ago. 36-year-old Joseph Miller was arraigned in Montgomery County court on Friday. He is charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter including his wife Joanna Miller and their 24-week-old newborn baby. It happened on March 7, 2014. Montgomery County officials are trying to find the owners of 50,000 pieces of stolen jewelry, coins, and other valuables recovered recently. They are valued at $1.5 million.
