Today was Day 3 at the Firefly Music Festival and the sun finally made an appearance or two for Sunday, but didn't bear down on the crowds. It made for a very pleasant day in Dover, DE for concert goers whether they were weekend weary campers or day passers taking this all in for the time. The lines for the free Arcade were still long (especially the Skeeball) and if you wanted to design your own Toms shoes (after purchase of course) I think you had to get in line sometime Friday. The hot air... Read More |

Saturday, Day 2, at the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, DE, ended with a bang from the pyrotechnics of mainstage headliners The Killers, but there was plenty of action through out the earlier part of the day. The weather was again very cool and cloudy, with a few sprinkles throughout the day. It was very comfortable for a festival held in the middle of a mid-Atlantic summer. It feels like early April. The sun will indeed come out tomorrow, but still only reach about 80. The British isles type... Read More |

The festival is being held at The Woodlands which is an 87-acre tract of grassy areas between wooded tree lines across Route 1 from the Dover International Speedway in Delaware. This centrally locates it to many of the Mid-Atlantic's large cities including New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, DC. There haven't been many multi-day festivals so easily accessible to fans along the East Coast. Firefly comes complete with... Read More |

Wawa has now expanded way down south to Florida. Today, Florida Governor Rick Scott and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer joined Wawa executives Howard Stoeckel and Chris Gheysens at the opening of their first store in Orlando. The Philadelphia based convenience chain plans to open another Orlando store and two in nearby Kissimmee in the coming weeks with another in Tampa later. Hopefully they'll be able to satisfy Florida's appetite for soda, ice, snacks, cigarettes, and of course hoagies.

An airplane flew around State College today towing a sign that read, "TAKE THE STATUE DOWN OR WE WILL." The statue referred to in the sign is believed to be the bronze statue of the late former head football coach Joe Paterno that is standing outside Beaver Stadium on the campus of Penn State. Paterno's name has been tarnished in the wake of the Freeh report into the University's handling of allegations of sexual assault by former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky. The flying sign comes on the... Read More |

The downtown mural in State College has been changed again in light of the Freeh Report. Artist Michael Pilato had painted a halo above Joe Paterno's head after he passed away in January. After Thursday's report that implicated Paterno as well as other high ranking Penn State officers including former University President Graham Spanier in covering up aspects of Jerry Sandusky's child sex abuse case, Pilato felt he had to remove the halo from the painting. He added a blue ribbon to Paterno's... Read More |
