Fire crews in Bucks County battled a fire at a popular restaurant early this morning. The blaze started at around 6:30 at Nifty Fifty’s on Street Road in Bensalem. The eatery was open at the time but everyone was able to get out before the building became engulfed. Despite the early hours, the region's heat wave was a factor on the firefighters. The Excessive Heat Warning continues across our area through Saturday night. The heat index was well over 100 today. Three roofers in Delaware County, PA, had to be taken to the hospital today and treated for heatstroke. They were laying tar on the roof of Chichester Middle School when one of them collapsed. A 57-year-old West Oak Lane man was found dead in his home today, the first confirmed heat related death. There was a box fan and an air conditioner, but it was not in use. Officially the... Joseph Patrick Franzone, Jr., 35, of Bridgeport, Montgomery County was arraigned today on one charge of theft. He is accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of checks and cash from a weeding reception at the William Penn Inn in Gwynedd on July 7th. However, this doesn't seem to be his first time. Police are investigating the death of a 4-year-old girl from Southwest Philadelphia. The girl arrived at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia at around 2:45 am this morning and was pronounced dead. She had bruising on her body and bleeding from her ears. There was also evidence that she was sexually assaulted. A pair of Dave Matthews Band fans ended up having quite a unique experience this past weekend on their way to see the band play a show at Hershey Park on Saturday night. Emily Kraus and her boyfriend were driving to see the show on Saturday afternoon when they noticed a bicyclist stranded with a flat tire on the side of the road. They turned around to help. After more than 15 hours of deliberations the jury of 6 women in Sanford, FL has found George Zimmerman not guilty in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. The jury had one question and sent the judge a note asking for clarification on the manslaughter charge this afternoon. That seemed to indicate they may have already passed on the more serious charge of second degree murder. The man who was suspected of stealing thousands of dollars by taking the wedding cards after a reception in Montgomery County on Sunday July 7th has surrendered. Joseph Patrick Franzone, Jr., 35, turned himself into a District Justice in Lower Gwynedd Township Friday morning. Darren Daulton has Brain Cancer; Camden County Power Out; Pottsgrove Standoff Over, Man Dead

Former Philadelphia Phillie's catcher Darren Daulton has been diagnosed with a glioblastoma, highly malignant form of brain cancer. Daulton went through successful surgery to remove two brain tumors just over a week ago. He has now returned to his Clearwater, FL home to recover before starting treatments for the cancer.
