The mother of one of the accused carjackers charged with murdering three children by running them over in a stolen SUV last week was offered the $110,000 reward but turned it down. Police credit 19-year-old Jonathan Rosa's mother with cracking the case and ultimately helping them bring in both suspects. A car plunged into the Delaware River just before 6 pm this evening. It happened along Columbus Blvd between Market and Chestnut near the Pier 3 condos. Philadelphia Firefighters and Marine Unit were on scene assisting in the rescue. Police say a 36-year-old male drove a black VW into the water. He was pulled out of the river and taken to Jefferson University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The manhunt continues for two carjackers who drove a stolen SUV into a crowd of people in North Philadelphia Friday morning killing three children and injuring three adults. The children have now been identified as 15-year-old Keiearra Williams, 10-year-old Thomas Reed and seven-year-old Terrence Moore. Three children were killed and two others were injured when a carjacked vehicle plowed into a crowd of people in North Philadelphia this morning. The crash happened around 11:15 am at the intersection of Germantown Avenue and West Allegheny. A female caseworker was killed and a doctor injured this afternoon when a patient opened fire in the offices at Mercy Wellness Center in Delaware County. It happened at 2:00 pm across the street from Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital on Lansdowne Ave in Darby. A patient entered the psychiatric unit on the third floor and shot and killed his case worker. Pennsylvania SPCA officers rescued a dog who was choking and tied to a fence in North Philadelphia on Tuesday. The brown and white pitbull was tied using a short cable and electrical tape to a chain link fence surrounding the tennis courts in Awbury Park. The officers have renamed the dog Venus and it is being treated at the PSPCA's Shelter Hospital.
