A report from the Philadelphia City Controller's Office released on Wednesday, 11/18, found that over 200 firearms had gone missing from the Philadelphia Sheriff's Office armory between 1977 and 2015. City Controller Rebecca Rhynhart said they received an initial complaint in the fall of 2019 of 15 missing rifles and shotguns. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School in Philadelphia and Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote will be closed at the conclusion of the 2020-2021 academic year. Philadelphia Police are looking for a man wanted for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Kensington last week. It happened on Tuesday, 11/10, around 1 a.m. The girl had left her home and was walking on the 3100 block of Frankford Avenue. She encountered a man at a Sunoco gas station. He offered to give the girl a ride to her aunt's house. He led her to his car and told her to sit inside. Once she was inside, he sexually assaulted her. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled against the Trump campaign on Tuesday, 11/17, saying that Philadelphia election officials did not illegally restrict observers during the canvassing process. The court voted 5-2. Pennsylvania Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine announced updated guidance in the fight against coronavirus COVID-19 on Tuesday afternoon, 11/17. She noted that models suggest Pennsylvania hospitals will run out of beds in December and urged heath-care systems across the state to work together and prepare for that possibility, including deciding on the urgency of elective surgeries. Philadelphia Heath Commissioner Dr. Tom Farley announced new restrictions on Monday, 11/16, called 'Safer at Home' aimed to fight this new wave of coronavirus COVID-19. The restrictions go into effect starting Friday, November 20 through January 1, 2021. Farley said that the City of Philadelphia is now averaging 700 new daily positive cases at a 13% positivity rate.
