Cherie Amoore, who is accused of kidnapping a 7-week old baby from the King of Prussia mall last week, was released from jail on Wednesday after posting bail. A juror in the Daniel Dougherty arson/murder trial was dismissed today, five days into deliberations, due to emotional reasons. The jury sent the judge a note late on Tuesday saying that unidentified juror told the others that "[w]e are going to cause her to have a nervous breakdown." They said she was alternately pacing the room and putting her head on the table, hyperventilating, and taking anxiety pills. Villanova University has announced plans for a parade to celebrate the Men's Basketball 2016 NCAA National Championship. It will be held this Friday, April 8th in Center City Philadelphia. The parade will start at 20th and Market and end at Dilworth Park next to City Hall. More details about the parade will be coming. A woman who was attacked and seemingly abducted from a SEPTA bus in the early morning hours on Friday tells police that she is fine and that nothing happened. Twenty-nine-year-old Kyle Crosby was sentenced Thursday to 31 years behind bars in the New Year's Eve 2014 killing of his wife Erica Crippen. The Mount Laurel man pled guilty in December to aggravated manslaughter and hindering apprehension in the death of his 26-year-old wife. Tuesday was a violent night in Philadelphia. Police are investigating the deaths of six people in six separate incidents. These occurred in Southwest Philadelphia, North Philadelphia, West Philadelphia, Strawberry Mansion, Grays Ferry, and East Falls. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf signed an executive order today that raises the minimum wage for some state workers to $10.15, up from $7.25 an hour. The pay raise will effect around 450 state government employees and state contracted workers. The Democrat used his executive power to bypass the GOP-controlled Legislature. Raising the wage above the federal minimum for all workers in Pennsylvania will require legislation and cooperation between the Governor and the Legislature.
